Saltillo Blockade Edition

Tar Sands Blockade strikes again!

After years of petitioning representatives, writing letters to the editors, and pursuing all legal means available to stop the theft of private property, prevent the poisoning of water and land, and provide for a sustainable and stable planet for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, these courageous and patriotic citizens have been left with no alternative than to continue to force the issue with actions of civil disobedience.

The following photos were taken outside of Saltillo, Texas, at a land-clearing operation on the Keystone XL pipeline path. The "log-&-load" equipment became the latest target for the blockaders who secured themselves to the machines. Truckloads of workers got the day off thanks to their determined civil disobedience, and the trees in the operation's path got another day of life to soak up the sunshine and CO2.
